Lawns require fertilizer to stay healthy and vigor. A well fertilized lawn will be better at preventing weed infestation as well as drought and disease.

Can our children and pets be out in the lawn after your technicians leave?

We usually recommend to keep children and pets off lawn for 24 hrs just to be on the safe side.

Are your lawn care programs expensive?

How high should I mow my grass?

Your first mowing should be cut low at 2" There after adjust your height to 3" for the summer months for a healthy, green lawn

What if I notice weeds still growing after you applied the application?

The Giving Tree Guarantees all work done, if you are not satisfied we will reaply the appication at no cost to you.

How long will it take for my weeds to disappear?

Weed control can take from 2-4 weeks before you see the full benefit of the application.

I have moles damaging my lawn, what can you do?

Moles mainly feed on earthworms, but they can also eat grubs and other insects. Applying a grub control does not guarantee the control of moles. We will bait the mole(s) at an extra cost for you.

How often will I receive my application when on a program with The Giving Tree?

We work to keep the applications between 6-8 weeks apart.

When is the best time to seed my lawn?

The ideal time to seed a lawn is early spring (March-April), and again in the fall ( August-September)

Can you call me prior to you coming out to apply the application?

Yes, we will be glad to call you the day before any application is put down and put you on a "call ahead" schedule.

How will I be invoiced?

Our technicians will leave a invoice with a "fact" sheet for the application we applied at you door.

How long will it take to Install a Sprinkler System?

Usually The Giving Tree can install an average yard in only one day

Will installing a Sprinkler System destroy my yard or flower beds?

NO! We use a state of the art machine called a vibratory plow. It allows for no trenching. The machine just leaves a slit in the ground, and when we are finished with the clean up process you can't tell we were even there.

Which Product will you be using for my Sprinkler System, and which is the best?

We are a preferred HUNTER contractor, but will install any other major brand like Toro, Rainbird, Irritrol, and Netafim tubing that you would Prefer. All major brands offer great products, and we just prefer the HUNTER products. Most times it isn't the product used, its the quality used to install the product!

Is there a lot of maintenance owning a Sprinkler System?

No, Here in Connecticut the most important would be the Fall Winterization to make sure it dosen't freeze during the winter months, and the Spring Opening to insure proper, water efficient watering.

How can I be assured that I am getting a quality Sprinkler System?
